Why don't I see any steps?
SimpleSteps reads data from Apple Health. Make sure you granted permission on first launch. You can check in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → SimpleSteps. If your iPhone has no step history yet, walk around for a few minutes and the data will appear.
Where is my data stored?
Entirely on your device. SimpleSteps has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. Your activity is read from Apple Health and shown to you — nothing leaves your iPhone.
Can I change between miles and kilometers?
Yes — open the Settings tab and tap the unit you prefer. SimpleSteps defaults to your region's standard.
Does SimpleSteps track me with GPS?
No. Distance is estimated by your iPhone's motion coprocessor from step count and stride. No location data is ever used or collected.
Is there an Android version?
An Android version is in development. Follow along by emailing me — I'll let you know when it's ready.
