Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

The short version

SimpleSteps does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal data. Everything stays on your device.

What data the app accesses

With your permission, SimpleSteps reads the following from Apple Health:

Step count
Walking and running distance

This data is read on your device, displayed inside the app, and never leaves your iPhone.

What we do not collect

SimpleSteps does not collect personal information, location data, device identifiers, usage analytics, crash reports, or advertising identifiers. There are no user accounts and no sign-in.

Servers and third parties

SimpleSteps has no backend servers. The app does not make any network requests. It does not contain third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or tracking frameworks.

HealthKit

SimpleSteps uses Apple's HealthKit framework to read step and distance data. Apple's HealthKit privacy policies apply to how this data is stored on your device. SimpleSteps never writes data to HealthKit and never shares HealthKit data with any third party.

Children's privacy

SimpleSteps does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new "last updated" date. Because the app collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
